  The outstanding season of Switzerland County wrestler Jacob Wolf came to a close on Saturday when he lost on points in the first round of the Jasper Semistate.

  The senior, wrestling in the 132-pound weight class, Wolf’s first round opponent was Cade Meier of Bloomington South, and after three tough periods, Meier prevailed by a decision of 8-3.

  Meier would go on to lose to the eventual Semistate champion at 132-pounds,  Kysen Montgomery of Brownsburg, in the semifinal round.

  Wolf finished the year with an overall record of 26-6.


  In related wrestling news, Bryer Hall, a senior at East Central, won the 170-pound weight class at the New Castle Semistate, and will now advance to this Saturday’s State Finals.

  Hall is undefeated on the season at 34-0, and is the favorite to earn a state championship.

  Hall is the son of Jason and Gina (Smith) Hall; and is the grandson of Priscilla ‘Toy’ and Gardy Smith of near Patriot.
