Led by Invitational Most Valuable Participant Tre Batchelor, the Switzerland County Middle School boys track team ran its way to the championship of the Vevay Media Group Invitational on Friday night.
Switzerland County finished with a team score of 67; followed by Jac-Cen-Del with 56; Southwestern with 25; and Rising Sun with 24.
Batchelor earned the MVP by winning the 100-meter dash in a time of :12.64; the 200-meter dash in a time of :26.56; and finishing second in the long jump. He was also a part of the winning 400-meter relay team along with Dathan Brown, Aaron Jones, and Damian Breeck, which ran a time of :51.73.
Breeck also had an outstanding meet, winning the long jump with a distance of 15’6″; the 400 meter run in a time of 1:00.28; being a part of the winning 400-meter relay team; and he was also a part of the winning 1,600-meter relay team along with Caden Hankins, Aaron Scudder, and Aaron Jones, which ran a time of 4:20.59.
Dathan Brown earned the other first place finish for Switzerland County, winning the 110-meter hurdles in a time of :18.35.
Scudder was second in the 800-meter run; Jones was fourth in the high jump; Brown was fourth in the shot put; Sam Richards was fourth in the discus; J.W. Goldsberry was fourth in the 200-meter dash; Ben Hicks finished fifth in the 1,600-meter run and the 800-meter run; Hankins was fifth in the 400-meter dash; and Damian Sawyer was fifth in the shot put and the discus.
The Pacers will host the conference meet this Monday, May 9th.
