Town of Patriot
The Patriot/Posey Park Board has announced that plans are moving forward on the community’s annual 4th of July celebration — which will be different from past years.
In an announcement posted on the board’s Facebook page, the new event, which will also celebrate the town’s Bicentennial, the Park Board said:
“We are happy to announce that for the Patriot Bicentennial Celebration on the 4th of July we will have a Fireworks Display at 10 p.m.! We will open concessions at Harris Park at 8:30 p.m. with Bicentennial Celebration t-shirts for sale, as well as snacks, drinks and popcorn. We are encouraging everyone to practice social distancing during the event and we hope to see everyone there!
Although there will be a celebration, what isn’t happening in 2020 is the annual parade; Memorial Park ceremony; and community dinner. All of those activities are expected to return in 2021 as the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions ease.
