Primary Election voting is now underway at the courthouse

  Early voting in the Switzerland County Primary Election is now underway in the Courthouse, and the Traveling Vote Centers will begin in two weeks.

  The Traveling Board is designed to give Switzerland County voters multiple opportunities in which to cast their vote in the Primary.

  Regardless of where a person lives in the county, voters may cast their primary ballot at any of the locations, depending on their schedule.

  Here is this year’s schedule:

COURTHOUSE BASEMENT

APRIL 5th to APRIL 29th

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday:

8:30 a.m. until noon. *

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday:

 1-3 p.m.

  • Thursday: 8 a.m. until noon. *

CLOSED FOR LUNCH: Noon to 1 p.m.

MOOREFIELD FIREHOUSE

  • Thursday, April 21st: 8 a.m. until noon. *

  • Friday, April 22nd: 2-6 p.m.

EAST ENTERPRISE FIREHOUSE

  • Saturday, April 23rd: 8 a.m. until noon. *

  • Monday, April 25th: 2-6 p.m.

POSEY TWP. FIREHOUSE

  • Tuesday, April 26th: 8 a.m. until noon.*

  • Wednesday, April 27th: 2-6 p.m.

FLORENCE FIREHOUSE

  • Thursday, April 28th: 8 a.m. until noon.*

  • Friday, April 29th: 2-6 p.m.

  Other dates that voters need to know:

  • On Thursday, April 14th, voting by the absentee voter board (traveling board) will begin.

  • The deadline for the Switzerland County Clerk’s office to receive an absentee ballot application from an applicant requesting delivery of the ballot by mail is Thursday, April 21st, at 11:59 p.m.

  Applications may be submitted to the Clerk’s office in person, by mail, by FAX, by email, or online through the Indiana Voter Portal, which is found at www.indianavoters.com

  • Saturday, April 23rd, the Clerk’s office must be open for a minimum of four hours to permit in person absentee voting.

  One of the county’s voting centers should also be open for in person absentee voting.

  • The deadline for the clerk’s office to receive absentee ballot applications from confined voters is Monday, May 2nd

  Noon that day is the deadline for the Clerk to receive Federal Post Card applications from military/overseas voters, or a voter with print disabilities.

  Also, Monday, May 2nd, at noon is the deadline for a voter to vote an absentee ballot in person at the Clerk’s office.
