Kathleen May Holland, 78, of Rising Sun, passed away at 9:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 28th, 2016 at Dearborn County Hospital in Lawrenceburg, Indiana.
Kathleen was born in Rising Sun on November 5th, 1937, the daughter of the late Alma Kathleen (Smith) Kruse and Orville M. Fleek. She attended Rising Sun High School.
On November 30th, 1957, she married Dale Holland at the Rising Sun First Baptist Church. They were married almost 37 years until Dale’s passing on September 21st, 1994.
Kathleen was a homemaker and also was matron while her husband, Dale, was Ohio County Sheriff. She had worked at the canning factory in Rising Sun and also helped her friend Roy Turner set tobacco.
She was a member of Rising Sun Church of Christ. Kathleen was also a member of the Quilting Guild, Republican Women’s Club and Ohio County Sheriff’s Department Merit Board. Kathleen enjoyed quilting, gardening, antiques and baking. Earlier in life she liked to hunt and fish along side her husband. Politics was also a passion of hers.
Kathleen is survived by a son, Alland Dale Holland, of Rising Sun; by three daughters: Teresa (Shannon) George of Rising Sun; Kathleen (Jeff) Steigerwald, of Aurora, Indiana, and Laura (Michael Weckbach) Smart, of Hebron, Kentucky.
She will also be dearly missed by her seven grandchildren: Timothy, Kyle, Sherman, Tyler, Brodie, Anthony and Greg; by seven great-grandchildren: Emily, Nathan, Payton, Hattie, Wesley, Xavier and Olivia; by two sisters: Chris (Martin) Westerkamm, of Bennington, and Christina Fleek of Missouri; by two brothers: Dave Kruse of Bennington and Robert (Rita) Fleek, of Cleveland, Indiana.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents; by her husband Dale; and by a brother, Tommy Kruse.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 30th at the Markland Funeral Home in Rising Sun. Friends were invited to call on Saturday prior to the beginning of the service at the funeral home. Burial was at Rising Sun New Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Rising Sun Fire Department.
William Joseph “Joey” Minch, Jr., age 30, of Greensburg, Indiana, formerly of Pleasant, passed away at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 31st, 2016, on U.S. 421 near Napoleon, Indiana.
Joey entered this life on September 6th, 1985, in Madison, the loving son of William Joseph “Bill” and Christine (Holloway) Minch. He was raised in Pleasant, and was a 2004 graduate of the Switzerland County High School.
Joey earned his electrician license in 2008 from Independent Electrical Contractors. Joey was currently employed since 2005 for Kenmark Electric in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was a former member of the Sons of the Vevay American Legion Post #185 in Vevay.
Joey enjoyed collecting cards, playing board games and video games, reading and watching movies, but most of all spending time with his loving son, William James Minch. Joey will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: C.H. and Frances Minch; and his maternal grandmother: Mae Holloway.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, August 5th, 2016, at 11 a.m., by Pastor Jerry Ison, at the Haskell & Morrison Funeral Home, 208 Ferry Street Vevay, Indiana, 47043.
Interment will follow in the Grandview Memorial Gardens, Madison, Indiana.
