Lady Pacers stay perfect with two big wins, eye Rising Sun tonight

The Switzerland County Lady Pacer soccer team is proving to be one of the top teams in the state, as the squad rolled to two more victories during the past week.

Carroll County

On Monday, August 22nd, the Lady Pacers traveled to Carroll County and returned home with a 4-0 shutout victory.

Switzerland County got its first goal at the 32-minute mark on a goal Halle Archer off of an assist from Claire Rogers, and that goal stood up for a halftime lead.

In the second half, the Lady Pacers scored again at the 47-minute mark off of a penalty kick by Kenzie Taylor; and at the 52-minute mark Archer scored again — she currently leads the entire state in goals and points scored.

The final goal came four minutes later, when Avy Burkholder found the back of the net at the 56-minute mark with the help of an assist by Emma Parsons.

Switzerland County keeper Allena Weaver had three saves.

Southwestern

On Wednesday, August 24th, Switzerland County hosted Southwestern and rode 10 first half goals to a 13-0 Mercy Rule victory.

It didn’t take long for the Lady Pacers to get rolling, as Kenzie Taylor scored just three minutes into the game off of an assist by Halle Archer. Two minutes after that, Avy Burkholder scored; and two minutes after that, Archer scored at the seven-minute mark off of an assist by Taylor.

At the 11-minute mark, Emma Parsons scored; and a minute later Burkholder scored her second goal of the contest. At the 15-minute mark Archer scored with an assist by Isabella Breeck; and at the 19-minute mark, Madison Hannan scored. Addie Deck scored at the 32-minute mark; and then Courtney Higgins went to work, scoring two straight goals — one at the 34-minute mark and another at the 38-minute mark with an assist from Dakota Richards.

The sent the teams to the halftime break with Switzerland County leading 10-0.

In the second half, Richards scored off of an assist by Taylor at the 48-minute mark; Parsons followed that with her second goal of the match at the 50-minute mark; and Maddie Level finished off the scoring — and the Lady Rebels — with a goal at the 57-minute mark that ended the game due to the Mercy Rule.

Switzerland County now stands at 5-0-0 on the year and is a perfect 3-0-0 in conference play.

The Lady Pacers take to the pitch again tonight (Thursday) when they travel to Rising Sun.
