Lady Pacers soccer earns two more wins, eyes Oldenburg showdown tonight

  The Switzerland County varsity girls soccer team continues to roll through its season — and the #5-ranked Lady Pacers now have their sights firmly set on the biggest game on the schedule to date when they travel to #4-ranked Oldenburg Academy tonight (Thursday, September 15th.

  Both teams bring lofty expectations into the game, as Switzerland County continues to dominate all of its matches.

  Here’s a look at the past week:

Milan

  The Lady Pacers again dominated conference competition on Tuesday, September 6th, when they defeated Milan by a score of 8-0.

  Switzerland County got on the board at the 13-minute mark on a goal Kenzie Taylor with an assist by Halle Archer.

  At the 29-minute mark, Archer earned her second assist of the half when Courtney Higgins found the back of the net.

  Moving into the second half with a 2-0 lead, Switzerland County puts its offensive firepower on display in the second half, scoring six goals.

  At the 41-minute mark, Claire Rogers scored off of an assist by Higgins; and two minutes later Archer scored with an assist from Rogers at the 43-minute mark.

  Emma Parsons then converted a penalty kick at the 52-minute mark; and at the 58-minute mark, Archer scored off of a corner kick.

  Rogers had her second goal of the match at the 65-minute mark; and Archer wrapped up the scoring with a goal at the 71-minute mark.

  Goalkeeper Allena Weaver had two saves in the match.

South Ripley

  On Thursday night, September 8th, Switzerland County traveled to South Ripley and returned home with a big 8-0 victory.

  In Thursday’s match, the Lady Pacers scored four goals in each half.

  In the first half, Emma Parsons scored with an assist by Dakota Richards just seven minutes into the game; and two minutes later at the nine minute mark, Claire Rogers scored with an assist by Lainie McAlister.

  Halle Archer scored a goal at the 24-minute mark; and the final Lady Pacer goal of the half came with Megan Wetzel scored at the 35-minute mark.

  In the second half, Parsons scored her second goal off of an assist by Archer at the 52-minute mark; and Parsons returned the favor at the 58-minute mark when she assisted on Acher’s goal.

  Parsons scored her third goal of the match at the 68-minute mark; and at the 74-mark Lauren Smith scored with an assist by Addie Deck.

  Goalie Allena Weaver had one save.

  The two wins upped the Switzerland County record to 8-0-0 overall and 6-0-0 in ORVC play.

  Prior to the trip to Oldenburg tonight (Thursday), Switzerland County was to host Rising Sun this past Tuesday, September 13th for Senior Night.
