The Switzerland County Lady Pacer softball team split a pair of games during the past week.
– Last Thursday, April 28th, Switzerland County fell to Rising Sun by a score of 4-2.
Taylar Jordan was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored; Mallory Phagan was 2-for-3 with a run scored; and Kelsi Konkle was 1-for-4 with two RBI.
Brooke Todd was 1-for-3 with a double, two stolen bases, and a run scored; Baylie Scudder was 1-for-2 with a run scored and a stolen base; and Bre Braun was 1-for-4. McKenna Edwards was 1-for-3 with an RBI.
In the circle, Konkle suffered the loss, going the distance allowing four earned runs and she struck out 13.
– On Monday night, the Lady Pacers bounced back with a 10-0 win over Shawe Memorial.
Konkle led the way at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a home run, a double, three RBI and two runs scored.
Hope Tankersley was 2-for-3 with a double, a run scored, and two RBI; while Scudder was 1-for-3 with a run scored. Jordan was 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base; Kassedy Murray was 1-for-2; Alysa Parr was 1-for-1; and Phagan also scored two runs. Kaylee Wetzel recorded a stolen base.
Konkle earned the win with a two-hitter, as the senior struck out 10 and walked just one.
The two games lift the Switzerland County record to 6-7 overall, and the Lady Pacers are now 5-2 in conference play.
