Jeff-Craig firefighters complete course training certification


Members of the Jeff-Craig Volunteer Fire Department recently completed the Indiana Firefighter 1 and 2 course, which was conducted by Fire Instructor Chris See.

The course provided the training, knowledge, and skills required to become a state-certified firefighter.

During the training, the firefighters received instruction in such measures as: fire behavior, incident command system, hazardous materials, building construction, personal protective equipment, rescue and extrication, ground ladders, fire cause determination, fire tactics, and assisting with EMS runs.

Part of their training was a controlled burn at a location on Jackson Road.

A total of 30 firefighters completed the class and earned their certification.
