The American Cancer Society Relay for Life 2012 will have the kick-off meeting tonight, January 19th, at the water works building on Seminary Street at 6 p.m. Hope you can be there.

Corinne Martin and her mom Erma Nolan went to the baby shower for Niki Nolan near Madison Sunday. Several others attended and had a good time. She got lots of presents. They had good food and a baby bottle cake.

Margie Whitham, James and DeeDee Kong and boys, Chance and Teryn Hinman and Richard and Janet Sullivan had a good lunch with Squeaky and Jeanette Knaus Sunday. Richard and Janet Sullivan also visited Glenda Sullivan and the three of them visited Faye Lewis and had a great visit.

Gib and Doris Houze and daughter Gayla had a nice visit with Elizabeth Cole at Switzer Square a couple of weeks ago.

Janice Ramsey told me that her brother Jack Brown of Westport is doing pretty good but we could keep him in our prayers.

Many friends and family turned out for the Wade Self visitation Saturday. We send our deepest sympathy to his mom Laverne Self and the family and dear friends.

Some people have called for Kenny Clemons’ address to send him sympathy for the loss of his wife Jean. Virginia Briggs helped me find this address. It is 738 West Street, Versailles, IN 47042. Thanks, Virginia.

We also extend sympathy to the family of Tim “Bo” Waller of Versailles. Bo and Mary used to live on Florence Hill Road and were good neighbors. He will be missed.

The Florence Flowers Extension Homemakers Club met Monday evening. Sylvia Byars, Inez Harker, Sharon Ballard, Bonnie Duckworth, Patty Chase, Sharon Patterson, Leona Adams and Alberta Pickett enjoyed the lesson, craft, good food and good fellowship.

The East Enterprise-Florence Fire Department had its steak supper Friday for all the workers and recognized the good works of many. The food and fellowship was good and this time I was a winner of one of the drawings for the first time. Thanks. The food was prepared by Gary and Kim Hambrick.

Gary, Karen and David Wentworth, Judy and Lori Lozier, Glenda Sullivan, Patty Chase, Charles and Alberta Pickett, Roy and Bonnie Duckworth all enjoyed lunch in Kentucky after church Sunday. They had a nice visit with Don and Kim Stout while there.

Glenda Sullivan and Patty Chase went with Faye Lewis to an appointment in Madison Monday and had lunch at Frisch’s. We also saw a lot of Vevay people at the grocery there. We are sorry to hear the Vevay store was closed. These small town stores cannot survive unless they have enough people support them.

Davy and Patty Leap were the lucky winners of the Snappy free pizza for a year contestlast week. Good for them.

Faye Lewis’ company was Don Allen, Mary Leo Archer, Bill Olds, Nora Gross, Evelyn Smith, Cathy DeBaun, Richard and Janet Sullivan, Ron and Jean Sandidge and Glenda Sullivan. Faye would like to get in touch with Alice Hein. Alice, call Faye at her old number if you read this.

Ivan and Dollie Green, Reesea and Joe Jackson enjoyed Bailey’s basketball game in Madison.

Diana and Denny Brown’s company over the weekend was Angie Handlon, Sharon Wilson, Audrey Marsh, Margaret Lee Weidmann and Steve Bladen.

Margart Lee’s company was Betty Hargrove, Randy and Lorraine Brown, Gail Ann Clements and Kay O’Neal. Margaret Lee and Kay went shopping in Madison and enjoyed a nice lunch one day. Mrgaret Lee visited Norma Lee Brindley, Pearl Byram, Geneva Scotti, Mary Smith and her daughter Judy Sunday at Swiss Villa.

Vivian Chase called to tell me her children and families came and took her out for dinner and some entertainment one day to celebrate her birthday. Vivian is at Switzer Square. Happy birthday, Vivian.

I had a nice call from Glenda Perkins to remind me of Mo’s birthday today (19th) and wants to wish him a happy birthday. Birthday wishes also go out for Violet Kelly, Sharon Brown, Patty Chase, Shirley White and many others I can’t think of right now due to “another” senior moment. Tonya Moore’s birthday was on Christmas Day and I missed it. Hope it was a happy one, Tonya.

The family of Elizabeth Cole got together Christmas Eve at the recreation room at Switzer Square. The evening was enjoyed by all with food, gift exchange and visiting.

Christmas Day Jeff Gray and family, Evon and Reta Gray, Troy and Tammy and family, Noel and Bridgett all spent the day with April and Jeremy Konkle and family in Southport, Indiana. She had lots of food and all enjoyed a gift exchange.

Pat and Bob Slack had their family for Christmas. Elizabeth Cole was also a visitor.
