Florence News 07/01/2021

Good morning from the Florence and Vevay area! I’m still at Switzer Square and love it. Still making new friends.

Wilma Turner moved here right down the fall from me.

I had a nice call from Nadine Swift this morning. She was on her way from Ohio to work in Vevay.

It was nice to have Ken Byars in church Sunday. He is getting better from a long illness.

Get well to Frances Pike and to Wendy at A.J.’s.

Out sympathy to the Ronald Sandidge family.

My company was Smitty, Glenda Sullivan, Mary Leo Archer, Linda May Jones, and Carolyn Hysell.

Linda Jones’ company were her brothers Steven Cole and Junior Cole. They brought Benjamin home.

Happy Birthday to Mary Lou Bowman!

The Florence Flowers Home Ec club had its monthly meeting at the home of Leona Adams last Monday evening. Following the regular business meeting and lesson, they all enjoyed a picnic in Leona’s sun room.

Members present were Leona, Bev Stoops, Sylvia Byars, and  Bonnie Duckworth.

The Wiley Family Reunion was held Saturday in the Florence Church of Christ’s fellowship room. A total of 15 family members enjoyed lots of good food, renewing family ties, remembrances, and air conditioning!

Ken and Sylvia Byars, Gary, Karen, and David Wentworth, Judy Lozier, Nancy Johnson, and Roy and Bonnie Duckworth all went to Madison Sunday after church to eat at 88 King Buffet to celebrate Ken’s return home after his extended hospital and rehab stay.
