THE CHRISTMAS SEASON IS finally upon us and whether you're reading this on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day or you finally got some time after the holidays to look through the Vevay Newspaper, let me personally wish you a Merry Christmas.

EARLY ON SUNDAY morning, Switzerland County joined the rest of the country in turning back our clocks one hour, ending Daylight Savings Time for another year.

Legislative ping-pong.

For legislators in Washington, D.C., the term lends itself more to a game.

But it's not a game. It's all very real.

THERE ARE ALWAYS SEVERAL ways to look at a situation.

The old adage is that a pessimist looks at the glass half empty; while the optimist sees the glass as half full. The realist says that there are four ounces of fluid in the glass.

WALKING WITH LARRY has become a weekly routine for me. Out of shape and with all sorts of medical issues, I turned to Larry Tolbert for advice on how to begin to take better care of myself, and not only did he give that advice, but he also created a time schedule where he makes sure I keep to that advice.

SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE done in this country, and it needs to be done quickly.

IT'S BEEN AWHILE SINCE I've written a column, but there are really good reasons why I wanted to take some space this week.
