The Ohio River Valley Conference has announced its “Players of the Week” and “Top Performers: for the week of January 31st through February 5th.
The Switzerland County Lady Pacers finished their first season with an overall record of 14-7. Tomorrow (Friday) night at Southwestern High School, Coach Wayne Ellegood and his troops will take the floor against the Milan Lady Indians to begin the second season.

Switzerland County’s boys varsity basketball team made it three victories in a row Saturday night, defeating Milan 84-57 in a game that saw all 12 Pacers score in the game — five finishing with double figures.
Friday night was Homecoming at New Washington High School — but coach David Todd’s Switzerland County Pacers didn’t prove to be obliging guests, outlasting a fired-up New Washington team in the opening quarter before pulling away to an easy 57-28 win.
Last Thursday night, the Switzerland County Lady Pacers spoiled Senior Night festivities for the South Ripley Lady Raiders. Monday night, with a piece of the conference title on the line, Southwestern rolled into Vevay and spoiled the Senior Night of Lady Pacer players Brittany Cole, Holly Jackson, and Jaclyn Ranz, winning by a final score of 52-46.
After wrapping up their regular season tonight (Thursday) with a home varsity only game with Madison Shawe, coach Wayne Ellegood’s Switzerland County Lady Pacers will open defense of their sectional title next week.
Junior Ashley Chase left her game jersey at home Tuesday night, discovering the problem as the Lady Pacers got dressed in preparation for their ORVC clash with Rising Sun.
Switzerland County powered its way to a 24-12 halftime lead and then dusted off the Lady Mustangs 35-16 in the second half en route to a a 59-28 win Saturday in New Washington.
