The Indiana Basketball Coaches Association has released its Girls Academic All State team members for the 2004-2005 season, and two members of the Switzerland County Lady Pacers have been honored.
Switzerland County High School honored its boys and girls basketball teams and cheerleaders during its annual winter sports athletic banquet held last Thursday night in the high school cafeteria.
Switzerland County and Southwestern were certainly not strangers when the two clubs met on the Lawrenceburg High School basketball floor Friday night for the semifinal game of the Sectional — but when the buzzer sounded four quarters later, the outcome had changed, as the Rebels defeated the Pacers 58-50 to advance to the finals against North Decatur.

Coach David Todd’s Switzerland County Pacers will start their trek toward a Sectional championship tomorrow (Friday) night against Southwestern.
The Ohio River Valley Conference has announced its “Players of the Week” and “Top Performers” for the week of February 14th-19th.
The largest crowd of the season greeted the Switzerland County Pacers as they entered their home gym for last Friday night’s Homecoming match up with conference leading Jac-Cen-Del — and for awhile the enthusiasm of that crowd sparked the Pacer offense; but in the end the Eagles simply made too many freethrows for the Pacers to overcome.

Southwestern High School came to Switzerland County for a basketball game Saturday night — but it wasn’t an ORVC battle with the Rebels.
After jumping out to an early lead in Tuesday night’s ORVC contest versus Jac-Cen-Del, the Switzerland County Lady Pacer varsity basketball team struggled to find offensive consistency, and after staging a frantic rally to retake the lead in the final minute of the game; the Lady Pacers just couldn’t hang on, as a late three-pointer by Emily Einhaus led to a 52-49 victory for the Lady Eagles.
