4 Pacer runners earn
All Conference honors
The Switzerland County Pacer boys and girls cross country teams participated in the ORVC meet at Hanover on Saturday afternoon, and had some outstanding performances.
On the boys side, there were only two Pacer runners — so Switzerland County could not record a team score — but both of those runners: Julio Reguerira Pratz (18:49) in seventh place overall and Nathan Furnish (19:04) in 12th place overall, earned All Conference honors by placing in the top 12.
Southwestern won the conference with a score of 23; followed by Jac-Cen-Del with 42; Rising Sun with 84; and South Ripley with 92. Switzerland County, Shawe Memorial, and Milan did not have enough runners to record a team score.
Trevor Smith of Southwestern was the individual champion in a time of 17:28.
The Lady Pacers finished fourth overall as a team in the conference race; and also have two runners earn All Conference laurels.
Gracie White (22:07) finished fourth overall to earn her spot on the All-ORVC team; while Alisha Detmer (22:12) also earned the honor by finishing fifth overall in the race.
Other Lady Pacer runners included: Allison Detmer, 17th place in a time of 26:14; Ning Wang, 20th place in a time of 28:52; and Angela Granieri, 23rd place in a time of 37:22.
South Ripley won the championship with a team score of 35; followed by Jac-Cen-Del with 53; Southwestern with 59; and Switzerland County with 67. Milan, Rising Sun, and Shawe Memorial did not have enough runners to record a team score.
Both teams now move on to the Sectional race, which will be held this Saturday, October 12th, and will be held at the Hanover course. The races will begin at 10 a.m.
