Zach Osowski is ‘Player of the Week’

The Ohio River Valley Conference has released its listing of “Top Performers” and “Players of the Week” in spring sports for the week of May 14th-19th.

In baseball, Pacer Zach Osowski has been honored as the “Player of the Week”.

He earned the honor by going 7-for-13 at the plate including two home runs and a triple, scoring five runs and knocking in 13 during the week.

He shared “Player of the Week” honors with Timmy White of Rising Sun.

Conference players honored as “Top Performers” include: Daniel Leonetti, Blake Sutton, and Tucker Brown of Jac-Cen-Del; B. Marksberry, Derek Walker, and Brad Becker of Milan; Todd Ungru, Andrew Bear, and Darren Lainhart of Shawe Memorial; Quentin Featherstone of Southwestern; Russ Steinhauer, Jared Keck, and Josh Cumberworth of South Ripley; and Myles Hornsby and Andrew Lange of Rising Sun.

In girls track, it was announced that Amanda Hon, senior distance runner with the Switzerland County Lady Pacers, earned the conference’s Mental Attitude Award in track for this season.

The conference also released the final All Sports standings in girls sports.

Southwestern won the title with 64 points; followed by South Ripley with 45; Rising Sun with 42; Milan with 40; Jac-Cen-Del with 39; Switzerland County with 32; and Shawe Memorial with 13.

The race for the boys All Sports trophy still has baseball and golf to go.

Currently, Rising Sun leads the race with 42 points; followed by Jac-Cen-Del with 36; Shawe Memorial with 33; South Ripley with 32; Southwestern with 30; Switzerland County with 29; and Milan with 22.
