The Annual Rising Sun Fall Yard Sale runs today (Thursday) through Saturday, Sept. 22nd.
There is a list of two dozen yard sales listed on the City of Rising Sun website including a sale on Thursday and Friday at the home of Rusty Walton at 206 N. High Street. The sale is Walton’s attempt to raise funds for youth to go on a mission trip to Haiti during spring break.
Downtown Rising Sun will be busy on Friday as the summer Music on Main and Cruise in concludes with the playing of Acoustic Blue Trio.
At dusk, the movie Grease will be shown as residents are encouraged to drive in with their golf carts.
The weekend includes a Red Wolf (Sanctuary) Rampage at 9 a.m. Saturday.
The Red Wolf Sanctuary is hosting it’s annual 5K and 10K Trail Walk/Run, All proceeds from the event will be used to support the sanctuary and its endeavors to preserve native North American wildlife through environmental education and the rehabilitation of injured and orphaned wildlife.
The 5K is a beautiful course, the first couple of miles take you along the waterways and the final mile takes you down the trail passed the large wildlife enclosures. If runners choose to take on the challenge and continue with the 10K they will at one point run up an over 240 feet in elevation in just under a mile. The 10K is not for the faint of heart.
Registration is at 8:30 a.m.
The Rising Sun boys and girls basketball teams will be hosting a golf scramble on Sunday at 1:30 at Vineyard Golf Course.
