On Saturday, June 2nd, the Lynx Wrestling Club hosted their Rumble at the Resort wrestling tournament at Belterra Casino. Thanks to all the volunteers and club parents this tournament was the most successful tournament to date. They had more kids than previous years with a total of 204. Last year there were 177. More people came to weigh in on Friday night with over 60 taking advantage of that option compared to right at 30 last year.
The club had its best performance individually with two helmet winners in Gabe Rose and Peyton Richards. Ethan Rose, Gabe Jackson, Austin John’s and Peyton Cunningham placed 3rd. Slayder Burkhokder, Avy Burkholder, Easton Sparks and Luke James also competed but was unable to make it to the podium.
Coach Mark Jackson said, “I would like to give a huge shout out to Switzerland County tourism for their assistance in helping us put on such a wonderful event for the youth of our community. Without them, Belterra, Lide White Boys & Girls Club and the numerous other sponsors and volunteers this tournament would not happen. Thank you again for your support.”
