Wolf earns berth to wrestling Semistate
Switzerland County wrestler Jacob Wolf participated in last Saturday’s IHSAA Wrestling Regional held at Jeffersonville High School — and his fourth place overall finish earned him the right to move on to this Saturday’s Semistate, which is being held at Jasper High School.
Wolf wrestled in the 132-pound weight class, and in his first match of the day he defeated Cole Bagshaw of Silver Creek High School in a 5-0 decision.
That moved Wolf into the semifinals, where he faced Jeramiah Cain of Jeffersonville, and lost in a close 5-4 decision.
Wolf then completed his Regional by wrestling for third place against Jakob Lewellen of Charlestown, but an injury did not allow Wolf to compete, and he was forced to forfeit that final match, and finished fourth overall in his weight class.
The Jasper Semistate features wrestlers who earned the right to advance from the Jeffersonville, Bloomington South, Evansville North, and Mooresville Regionals.
