After the winter storm that came through Switzerland County and other areas of Indiana over the weekend and early this week, forecasters say that most of the severe weather is now past the county – at least for the time being.
The National Weather Service is calling for a “light, wintry mix” tomorrow (Friday) with little accumulation; with the next chance of precipitation coming on Sunday, when rain showers are expected and the temperature climbs into the 40s.
With temperatures then going back below freezing on Monday, there is a chance again for occasional snow flurries – but again little accumulation.
That will end any chance of showers or precipitation until next Friday at the earliest, but temperatures are expected to be near 50 by next weekend.
Here in Switzerland County, school was out on Tuesday and Wednesday, but school officials were hopeful of getting students back in the classroom today (Thursday).
Winter weather may be ending
