For the second straight year, Switzerland County Pacer varsity cross country runners dominated the ORVC Conference Meet, earning the individual titles.
Sophomore Whitley Schirmer earned her second straight title, establishing her as one of the favorites in the upcoming Sectional, as she covered the Hanover College course on Monday with a time of 21:05.81.
On the boys side, senior Talen Taylor capped an outstanding career by winning the individual conference championship for the second straight year, and now has his eyes squarely set on the Sectional meet.
He won Monday’s race in a time of 17:18.34.

In the team event, in the girls meet Jac-Cen-Del earned the conference title with a team score of 46; followed by Southwestern with 52; Rising Sun with 89; and Switzerland County with 92. South Ripley was fifth with 113; and Madison Shawe was sixth with 118. Milan did not have enough runners to record a team score.
Along with the outstanding run by Whitley Schirmer, Switzerland County saw Cameron Ray also earn All Conference honors by finishing third overall in a time of 22:21.09.
Moriah Northcutt finished 25th in a time of 26:01.43; Audrey Kinne finished 30th in a time of 26:43.47; Lydia Northcutt finished 38th in a time of 33:44.27; and Adeli Kinne finished 40th in a time of 34:42.46.

Rising Sun won the boys conference championship with a team score of 53; followed by Jac-Cen-Del with 67; South Ripley with 77; Southwestern with 81; and Switzerland County was fifth with 91. Madison Shawe finished with 134; and Milan had 164.
Jordan Lay finished 15th overall in a time of 20:01.34; Cameron Papucci was 17th in a time of 20:21.84; Austin South finished 28th in a time of 21:59.36; and Brandon Works was 30th in a time of 22:49.78.
