Missing the Relay for Life Walk?

Butch Konkle and his friends at the Route 56 Campground are having a walk at the campground this Saturday, August 12th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. They are walking to raise money for the Jeannie and Butch Konkle Fund within the Community Foundation of Switzerland County, Inc.

Butch is inviting everyone who participated in past Relay for Life’s to come join them. You can walk and make your donations to the ‘Keeping Pace Cancer Fund’.

The ‘Keeping Pace Cancer Fund’ is also a fund within the Community Foundation of Switzerland County, Inc. The mission of the ‘Keeping Pace Cancer Fund’ is to assure that local dollars are helping local people through a trying time in their lives. Insurance covers the clinical part of cancer, but the other issues that people struggle with can sometimes be overwhelming. The ‘Keeping Pace Cancer Fund’ hopes to help with pressing needs. The needs might be different for each person. One person may need help purchasing a wig, while others may need help covering transportation, food costs, etc.

Butch Konkle wants to provide a place where people can come together to support two very worthy causes and provide the comradery that everyone enjoyed during the Relay each year. The walking area is paved and Butch will provide walkers with a sandwich and water. Participants may walk as long as they wish.

There is plenty of parking so come join Butch and his friends!
