Voters of Ohio County have been out early voting absentee at the Ohio County Courthouse in advance of this Tuesday’s, May 5th city primary and school referendum.

The school referendum is for 25 cents per $100 assessed valuation which would be for the next seven years.

The only city election is between local businessman Jim McDaniel and former sheriff Francis Swede Colen vying for the Precinct One Councilman position on the democrat ticket.

Voting on Election Day will be from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Rising Sun Senior Citizens Center for all residents except for those in Pike, Union and Cass Townships. They will vote at the Ohio County Highway garage on Woods Ridge.

Absentee voting can be done Thursday, Friday and Monday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.; and this Saturday, May 2nd, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
