Volleyball teams fall to Southwestern


The varsity and junior varsity volleyball teams from Switzerland County High School were defeated on Tuesday night at Southwestern.

The varsity team fell by scores of 21-25, 15-25, 18-25.

Individually, Ariel Clark had one kill, two digs, five assists, five points, and one ace; Jamie Phipps had four kills and two points; and Christina Ahaus had six kills, one dig, and one block assist.

Also: Jessie Ray had one point; Lindsay Scott had one kill, three digs, one block assist; six assists, and one point; Kayla Keith had one dig, one assist, and two points; Rachel Tressler had one kill, one dig, and two points; and Katie Rayls had three digs, three points, and one ace.

The jayvee team fell by scores of 24-25, 17-25.

Jessie Ray had three digs, one kill, and three assists; Kayla Keith had four digs, two kills, and eight points; and Ashley Poling had two digs, one kill, and four points.

Also: Trisha Smith had one dig, one block, and three points; Hayley South had two digs, one assist, four points, and one ace; and Samantha Morgan had two points.
