Volleyball teams earn first wins

The jayvee and varsity volleyball teams earned their first conference wins of the season on Tuesday night with home victories over Madison Shawe.

The varsity team won by scores of 15-25, 20-25, 25-17, 25-23, 15-10.

Ariel Clark had eight points, two aces, seven digs, one block, six kills, and 22 assists; Katie Rayls had nine points, one ace, five digs, and five kills; and Christina Ahaus had two points, seven blocks, one block assist, and nine kills.

Also: Trisha Smith had five points; Lindsay Scott had six points, three digs, three block assists, three kills, and 10 assists; Rachel Tressler had nine points, three aces, 11 digs, one block assist, and five kills; Jamie Phipps had seven points, one dig, three block assists, and nine kills; Angela Swanson had seven digs; and Kayla Keith had one dig.

The junior varsity squad defeated Madison Shawe by scores of 25-23, 25-14.

Kayla Keith had eight points, one ace, one dig, and one kill; Ashley Poling had nine points, one ace, one dig, and three kills; Trisha Smith had two points, one ace, one dig, on assist, and eight kills; and Jessie Ray had four points, three digs, and nine assists.

Also: Hayley South had one ace, three digs, and seven assists; Katie Hall had seven points and one assist; and Samantha Morgan had two assists and great serve receive coverage.
