The Switzerland County High School varsity and jayvee volleyball teams wrapped up their regular seasons last week with games against South Ripley on Thursday night and Scottsburg on Friday night.
On Thursday, the Lady Pacers fell to South Ripley in varsity action by scores of 14-25, 21-25, 12-25.
Individually: Trisha Smith had three kills and two blocks; Christina Ahaus had three kills, one assist, one double block, and two points; Rachel Rodgers had three kills and one point; and Rachel Tressler had one dig, two points; three aces, and an 86-percent passing rate.
Katie Rayls had four kills, one double block, three digs, and two points; Lindsay Scott had four assists, one dig, and three points; Ariel Clark had one kill, six assists, one dig, three points, and one ace; and Kayla Keith had one kill.
The junior varsity lost by scores of 23-25, 13-25.
Individually: Kayla Keith had five digs, two kills, and three points; Karoline Park had one dig; Lindsay Scott had three digs, one block, five assists, one point, and one ace; Trisha Smith had two digs, one block, six kills, and three points; Jessie Ray had one dig, three assists, three points, and two aces; and Ashley Poling had one dig and one kill.

Last Friday night the Lady Pacers concluded the regular season with a loss to Scottsburg by scores of 14-25, 15-25, 11-25. The junior varsity fell by scores of 19-25, 16-25.
“Although the scores did not show it, the varsity team played its best defensive game of the season,” Coach Tammy Martin said. “The team played with great intensity and teamwork and I was proud of their play.”
In the varsity game: Katie Rayls had three digs, one solo block, one block assist, one kill, and one point; Christina Ahaus had one dig, one solo block, two block assists, three kills, and three points; Lindsay Scott had three digs, one solo block, one block assist, six assists, and two points; and Rachel Rodgers had four digs, one block assist, one kill, and two points.
Trisha Smith had four solo blocks, one block assist, and four kills; Rachel Tressler had 11 digs, three points, and an excellent pass play and defensive play; and Ariel Clark had two digs, two kills, five assists, and four points.
In the junior varsity game: Jessie Ray had one dig, four assists, and two points; Lindsay Scott had three digs, one kill, six assists, and one point; Trisha Smith had two blocks, three kills, and tree points; Ashley Poling had one block, one dig, two kills, and one point; Kayla Keith had one dig, four kills, and two points; and Sam Morgan had two points, a great defensive play, and a great pass play.
