Playing three matches in one day, the Switzerland County Lady Pacer volleyball team participated in the Madison Invitational on Saturday, finishing with a 1-2 overall record.
In the first game of the day, coach Michelle Brett’s Lady Pacers defeated Carroll County in two sets by scores of 25-13, 25-20.
The Lady Pacers then played host Madison in the second round, falling by scores of 9-25, 15-25. The day was then capped off by a two set loss to South Ripley by scores of 15-25, 16-25.
“Three matches is a lot of volleyball in one day, especially in a hot gym,” Coach Brett said. “We know what we have to do now to beat Madison, so we’ll keep working.”

Last Thursday night the Lady Pacers took on Shawe Memorial, with the varsity picking up the victory. Switzerland County won by scores of 25-19, 25-13, 25-21.
“I thought the girls played their most complete game of the year so far,” Coach Michelle Brett said. “We really played together as a team.”
In junior varsity action, Switzerland County fell to Shawe by scores of 19-25, 19-25.
“The girls played well at times, but we need to be more consistent on the court,” jayvee coach Lesa McGarvey said.

On Tuesday night the Lady Pacers fell to Milan in a home match in three sets. The varsity lost by scores of 10-25, 16-25, and 15-25; while the junior varsity lost in two sets by scores of 9-25, 11-25.
