The Switzerland County Lady Pacer varsity volleyball team is off to a 2-2 overall start so far this season, with new coach Steven Konkle at the helm.
Here’s a rundown of the games played so far:
– On Tuesday night, the Lady Pacers fell to Milan in three games by scores of 17-25, 15-25, 21-25.
“We didn’t play badly,” Coach Konkle said. “Milan kept us on our heels and playing defense from the start. We have to work harder and pass better to be competitive with the conference leaders.”
– Last Thursday night Switzerland County defeated Madison Shawe in five games by scores of 13-25, 25-14, 18-25, 25-18, 15-10.
The win was a big one, as the Lady Pacers were without senior Jessie Ray, who was involved in festival activities.
– Last Tuesday, August 24th, Switzerland County fell to South Ripley in a tough, five game match, by scores of 16-25, 13-25, 25-22, 25-23, 11-15.
“It was good to come from behind and battle, even though we lost,” the coach said.
– On August 19th, the Lady Pacers fell to Oldenburg Academy in three games: 21-25, 19-25, 25-27.
