Two men from Vevey, Switzerland are in town this week as part of a project that has spanned the ocean.
Ruedi Flück and Emilien Colin got permission from the mayor of Vevey, Switzerland, to come here this week to take photographs of the community and the people; and will be also using photos that the duo has taken back home in Vevey. The two media artists will be using photos from both locations and featuring the people of both communities – superimposing people and buildings from one place into photos of the other.
Ruedi and Emilien were at the Vevay Town Hall of Wednesday morning, and presented Town Council President Keith Smith with a book of artwork featuring monuments and museums and other sites from Vevey, Switzerland.
Vevay Town Clerk-Treasurer Donna Graham-Knaus in turn presented the two artists with Keys to the town.
The two will be making another special presentation to the community by the end of this week to leave a small portion of their project here as a present.
