Vevay town election is November 8th

There will be a new voting location with townspeople go to the polls for the Vevay Municipal elections on Tuesday, November 8th.

This year, all voters eligible and living within the Vevay town limits will vote at the Vevay Utilities Building, 508 West Seminary Street.

There will also be absentee voting taking place in the office of the Switzerland County Clerk in the courthouse:

– Wednesday, October 12th: 8 a.m. until noon; and 1-3:30 p.m.

– Friday, October 14th: 8 a.m. until noon; and 1-3:30 p.m.

– Wednesday, October 19th: 8 a.m. until noon; and 1-3:30 p.m.

– Friday, October 21st: 8 a.m. until noon; and 1-3:30 p.m.

– Wednesday, October 26th: 8 a.m. until noon; and 1-3:30 p.m.

– Friday, October 28th: 8 a.m. until noon; and 1-3:30 p.m.

– Saturday, October 29th: 8 a.m. until noon.

– Saturday, November 5th: 8 a.m. until noon.

– Monday, November 7th: 8 a.m. until noon.

In Vevay, there are five candidates for three seats on the town council: Democrats Pete Furnish, Jamie Hayes, and Keith Smith; and Republicans Josh South and Kirk Works.

There is also a contested race for Vevay Clerk Treasurer, where Democrat Donna Graham is opposed by Republican Gayle Sullivan.

There will not be an election in Patriot because there are no contested races for Patriot Town Council seats or for Patriot Clerk Treasurer.
