Switzerland County Tourism announces the grand opening ceremony celebrating the renovation of the Grisard Building located at 217 Ferry Street in downtown Vevay.

The ribbon cutting will take place around 3 p.m. on Thursday, April 29th.

Funding for the project includes a grant from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority’s Real Estate Capital Access Program (RECAP), part of Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman’s family of business.

Local contributors are comprised of the Switzerland County Government, Switzerland County Tourism, Switzerland County Economic Development Corporation, The Community Foundation of Switzerland County, Town of Vevay, and the Vevay-Switzerland Foundation.

After nearly a decade of vacancy, the revitalization celebration will take place from 3-7 p.m. at the store on the corner of Ferry and Main streets.

Now known as the “Of Switzerland County” store, its new name links the store’s products to the locale. The location was formerly the home of a hardware store and Grisard Hall that featured live performances.

The public is invited to the ribbon cutting ceremony as well as the reception. Live entertainment and refreshments will be provided.
