Tomorrow’s Homecoming festivities will also feature crowning of a King

Switzerland County High School will also crown a King as part of tomorrow (Friday) night’s Homecoming festivities.

This year there are 11 candidates for the honor of reigning over Homecoming as King:

– KEEGAN PATRICK BURDSALL: Keegan Burdsall is the son of Joseph and Andrea Burdsall of Vevay. He works parttime at Walmart; and also enjoys going to concerts.

Following graduation he plans on attending Xavier University to pursue a degree in medical technology.

– KYLE CURTIS GREEN: Kyle Green is the son of Joe and Kaulene Green of Popcorn Ridge. He is a member of the National Honor Society; FFA; Fellowship of Christian Athletes; Pep Club; Conservation Club; and SADD. He is a four-year letterman in basketball and track; and works as a lifeguard at the Switzerland County YMCA.

In basketball he has earned All Conference honors twice; All Sectional honors twice; and was twice named to the All Tournament team at the Rivertown Classic. He serves as President of the Senior Class.

Following graduation he plans on attending college and pursuing a career in law.

– JORDAN PAUL HEWITT: Jordan Hewitt is the son of Paul and Sandee Hewitt of Lamb. He is a member of the Pep Club; Business Professionals of America; and the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is a four-year member of the baseball team; a four-year member of the soccer team; and a three-year member of the golf team.

He is a nine-year member of the Switzerland County 4-H program; is a member of Switzerland Baptist Church; and just earned the rank of Eagle Scout as a member of Boy Scout Troop #741.

After graduation he plans on attending college to study computer science and computer engineering.

– TYLER JOHNSON: Tyler Johnson is the son of Steve and Mary Johnson of Vevay. He is a member of the baseball team; Fellowship of Christian Athletes; Pep Club; FFA; SADD; and STATS.

He also enjoys golfing.

Following graduation he plans on attending the University of Southern Indiana for general studies; then transferring to Ball State University to major in architecture.

– CLAY MEYER: Clay Meyer is the son of Bob and Debbie Meyer of near Vevay. He is a member of the basketball, track, and cross country teams; and is also a member of SADD; STATS; Pep Club; FFA; French Club; Fellowship of Christian Athletes; and Spanish Club.

He works with JAM Construction; and is an Eagle Scout. He was a two-year Semistate qualifier in cross country; and was the individual champion of the cross country regional in 2008. He earned All Conference honors in cross country three times; and was a regional qualifier in track.

After graduation he will attend Ball State University and major in architecture.

– MATTHEW MEYER: Matthew Meyer is the son of Kyle and Beth Meyer of Vevay. He is a member of the Switzerland County FFA chapter; and also participates on the track team.

Following graduation he plans on attending Vincennes University to major in industrial maintenance.

– ZACHARY DAVID OSOWSKI: Zach Osowski is the son of Dan and Mary Beth Osowski of Patriot. He is a three-year member of the varsity baseball team; and is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He is also a member of the school’s newspaper staff.

He earned All Conference honors in baseball in 2008; and is the President of the National Honor Society.

After graduation he will attend the University of Southern Indiana to play baseball and pursue a major in journalism.

– KAMERON PAVY: Kameron Pavy is the son of Janna Sweeney of near Vevay and Gary Pavy of Vevay. He is a member of the basketball team and the golf team; and is a member of the French Club; FFA; Conservation Club; STATS; SADD; Pep Club; and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

He is the President of the Conservation Club.

Following graduation he plans on attending college and earning a degree in marketing or political science; with a goal of one day being a college basketball coach.

– ZACHARY TYLER RAYLS: Zak Rayls is the son of Galen and Debbie Rayls of Vevay. He is a member of the French Club; and a four-year member of the varsity track team.

In track, he earned the “Most Improved” award in his junior season.

After graduation he plans on attending Indiana University Southeast and majoring in criminal justice.

– CHAD DORMAN ROBINSON: Chad Robinson is the son of Shona Yazell of Vevay and Loyd Robinson of Madison. He is a four-year member of the varsity track team; and is also a member of the French Club; Pep Club; and Business Professionals of America.

He earned the Mental Attitude award in varsity track.

After graduation he plans on attending Indiana University Southeast or the University of Louisville and majoring in computer science.

– MARK SHARP: Mark Sharp is the son of Mark and Julee Sharp of Splinter’s Ridge. He is a member of the basketball team; FFA; Fellowship of Christian Athletes; STATS; Conservation Club; French Club; Pep Club; and SADD.

He plays AAU basketball in the summer; and is a member of the National Honor Society. He earned All Conference honors in basketball last season.

Following graduation he plans on attending the University of Southern Indiana, and is currently undecided on a major.
