The Switzerland County High School girls track team scored a total of 22 points last Thursday at the South Dearborn Invitational.

The Ohio River Valley Conference has released its listing of “Top Performers” and “Players of the Week” for spring sports for the week of April 16th-21st.

- In baseball, Pacer Travis Webster was honored as a “Top Performer” for pitching six innings of no-hit ball against New Washington. He struck out eight and didn’t allow an earned run.

Other “Top Performers” included: Justin Huff, David Busch, and Matt Gehl of Jac-Cen-Del; Brad Becker of Milan; Tregan Roberts, Chase Jones, and Todd Ungru of Shawe Memorial; Michael Bramer, Terrell Boyd, and Joe Bramer of Southwestern; and Cory Yeomans and Jared Keck of South Ripley.

Brian Beard of Milan and Michael Fear of South Ripley were honored as the conference’s “Players of the Week”.

– In girls softball, Lady Pacers Jennifer South and Tanya Sefton were honored as “Top Performers”.

Jennifer South was honored for going 2-for-4, scoring two runs, knocking in three, and recorded a double in two games.

Tanya Sefton was honored for going 2-for-5 at the plate, scored two runs and stole two bases in two games.

Other “Top Performers” included: Kiersten Young and Kaylin Ploeger of Jac-Cen-Del; Lacee Alloway, Katie Barton, and Courtney Crabtree of Milan; Brittany Gavelek and Judy Ellis of Southwestern; Samantha Niccum and Brenna Keith of Rising Sun; Kathryn Gray, Rachel Mussel, and Melanie Evans of Shawe Memorial; and Erica Burress of South Ripley.

Devin Brierly of Southwestern was named the “Player of the Week”.

– In boys track, the week’s best times and distances in the conference were recorded by Pacers Brandon Otter in the high jump with a height of 6’4″; and Nathan Hickman in the low hurdles with a time of :42.72.
