A group of friends and neighbors is organizing a special way to kick off your Thanksgiving Day celebration.

A “Turkey Day Fun Run” will be held on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 22nd. The run will begin at 8 a.m. in the Paul Ogle Riverfront Park, and the course will mirror the route of the Swiss Wine Festival 5K run.

There will be no timers or awards; but the run is simply a way for family and friends to get together for some fun before beginning the Thanksgiving Day events.

Organizers are asking everyone who wants to participate to bring a donation of canned goods; and those who wish to donate canned goods, but who don’t want to participate in the run, may bring them to the park between 7-8 a.m. that morning.
