The annual Little Miss and Little Mister contest was the highlight of Monday night at the Switzerland County 4-H Fair, and Taylor Lyon and Austin James “A.J.” Covington were the winners of this year’s event in front of a packed house in the Community Building.
The duo will now reign over the remainder of this year’s fair, assisting Queen Stephanie Adams and her court with various duties around the fairgrounds.
Taylor Lyon is six years old, and is the daughter of Chad Lyon and Angel Williams of Markland Pike. Her hobbies include riding four-wheelers and playing outside; and her favorite food is French fries.
Her favorite television show is “Hannah Montana”, and she has pet frogs.
A.J. Covington is seven years old, and is the son of Brian and Carol Covington of Peelman Road. His favorite television shows are Drake and Josh; Sponge Bob Square Pants; and Animal Planet; and he has two dogs: “Tuffy” and “Sammy” and a fish named “Stumpy”.
He enjoys helping his dad go on wrecker calls; and his hobbies include reading, riding his four-wheeler, playing basketball, playing video games, and watching TV. His favorite foods are shrimp, sausage, chicken nuggets, and macaroni and cheese.
The first runners up in this year’s Little Miss and Little Mister contest were Katelynne Whiteford and Jeffery Jenkins.
Katelynne Whiteford is six years old, and is the daughter of Carrie and Tim Ficklin of near East Enterprise and Dusty Whiteford of Rising Sun. Her favorite food is macaroni and cheese; her favorite television show is Sponge Bob Square Pants; and she has four dogs and seven puppies.
She likes to fish, ride bikes, dance, and play baseball.
Jeffery Dylan Jenkins is the son of Robyn and Jeff Jenkins of Vevay. He is five years old, and enjoys going to the park. His favorite foods are sausage, pancakes, and chicken; and his favorite television show is “Witches”.
He has three dogs: “Cloe”, “Zoe”, and “Max”; and three cats: “Poptart”, “Mimzy”, and “Lightning”.
The second runners up in this year’s Little Miss and Little Mister contest were Aleiah Thomas and Damian Breeck.
Aleiah Thomas is six years old, and is the daughter of Harold and Tina Thomas of near Vevay. Her favorite foods are mashed potatoes and corn; her favorite television show is iCarly; and she has three pets: “Lucy”, “Hanky”, and “Willy”.
She likes to color, jump on the trampoline, and swing on vines.
Damian Breeck is the son of Michelle and Christian Breeck of near Vevay. He is six years old, and enjoys playing baseball, soccer, wrestling, and basketball. He also enjoys fishing and swimming. His favorite foods are meatloaf and chicken nuggets; and his favorite television show is Sponge Bob Square Pants and WWE wrestling.
He has a cat, a goat, and chickens as pets.
Other candidates in the Little Miss pageant included: Zoe Cole, Leighla Day, Hailey Dornbusch, Miranda Hankins, Allee Howlett, Grace McAllister, Jacey Peelman, Allison Rent, and McKenli Scudder.
Other candidates in the Little Mister program were: Christopher Rent, Andrew Romans, Patrick Stow, and Zachary Weaver.
