Switzerland County soccer players earn All Star status

The Switzerland County varsity soccer programs have been improving through the years; and this year other areas of the state are beginning to take notice, as three players from Switzerland County High School have been honored as all stars.

Seniors Caleb McClellan and Trenton Ricketts of the boys Pacer team; and senior Maggie Armstrong of the Lady Pacer squad have been invited to play in the second annual “Postyourt” Indiana High School East versus West All Star Soccer games.

Both games will be played on Saturday, November 7th, at Crawfordsville High School. The girls game will begin at 10 a.m.; with the boys game following the conclusion of the girls game.

In addition to the three Switzerland County players, Lady Pacer varsity coach Roy Leap has been named as one of the coaches of the 2A East girls team, along with Kevin Duggins of Eastern (Greentown).

Maggie Armstrong is currently the only goal keeper on the squad, and she is generally considered one of the best keepers in Southern Indiana.

Joining her on the squad are Alaina McLaughlin, Jessica Schwing, and Nicki Logsdon of Lawrenceburg; Stephanie Parton and Olivia Rees of Eastern (Greentown); Katie Palin and Alyssa Gaff of Central Noble; Kate Kenny, Katie Boelke, Kayle Hanes, Jessica Daniel, and Jane Burnell of Speedway; Chantelle Balser, Alyssa Warren, and Kaity Puffer of Oak Hill; and Mackenzie Coulter of Manchester.
