Survivors’ dinner

To the Editor:

The Survivors’ Dinner served and supported by our local Switzerland County Farm Bureau, Inc., organization, with a lot of help from Gayla Bullock, as always, and many others, was a huge success Friday evening, June 16th, with over 85 survivors and guests being served at the high school cafeteria.

The menu was fried chicken, potato salad, green beans, carrot salad, pasta salad, yeast rolls, coffee, tea and lemonade, and last, but not least, a delicious variety of cakes, pies and cookies furnished by our local area churches. God knows who you are and you will receive your reward. Matthew 25:40, “I say unto you, inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these . . . ye have done it unto me.”

this was a special community project, with the Survivors’ Dinner being only one segment of the Relay for Life’s fight against cancer. It is amazing what can be accomplished when there are those who unite and work together in a worthwhile event.
