State Representatives Jud McMillin and Randy Frye will be holding a joint town hall meeting here in Switzerland County this Saturday, January 21st.
The meeting will be held in conjunction with Switzerland County Farm Bureau, Inc., and will be held at the Community Building at the 4-H Fairgrounds. The meeting will begin at 10:30 a.m.
“Many of the issues up for debate this year will affect the lives of citizens in our community,” Representative McMillin said. “I like to host town halls in order to keep the lines of communication open.
“Having an open dialogue with constituents is critical to the legislative process,” Representative Frye said. “I’m eager to gather additional feedback on the issues before us this session.”
Switzerland County currently lies in somewhat of a political “no man’s land”. The county helped elect Jud McMillin two years ago; but state-mandated redistricting has since moved the county out of District 68 and into District 67 – which Randy Frye represents – so both legislators are working on Switzerland County concerns during this session.
The same situation exists in Ohio County, and the two legislators will also hold a joint town hall meeting in Rising Sun this Saturday. That meeting, being held in conjunction with the Historic Downtown Program, will be held at Heritage Hall on Main Street, and will begin at 2 p.m.
Everyone is invited to attend these meetings.
