Special events at Catholic Church


The Most Sorrowful Mother of God Catholic Church in Vevay would like to announce some ongoing projects.

– Parishioners are collecting items for St. Vincent de Paul in the narthex/foyer of the church until the end of the year. Those items being requested include: canned goods, non-perishable food items, household items (laundry detergent, dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper) and children’s diapers. The church is open to the public on Saturday from 3-5 p.m. for drop off.

– Everyone is invited to pray the “Patriotic Rosary” each Wednesday at 10:15 a.m. in the church lobby. For more information, call Mary Christiani at (812) 534-3778; Sharon Ward at (812) 525-1370; or Wendy Yanikoski at (812) 427-9663. It takes about 35 minutes.

– The Annual Parish Dinner will be held on Thursday, January 12th, 2017 at the Jack Sullivan Building of the Switzerland County Senior Citizens Center beginning at 6 p.m. RSVP is necessary to either Gayle Rayles at (812) 427-2167 or Dianna South at (812) 584-2124.

The Most Sorrowful Mother of God Church is located on Ferry Street across from the Jeff-Craig Firehouse. Mass is held every Saturday at 4 p.m. with Pastor Reverend Christopher Craig and Deacon Mike Gardner officiating. Reverend Stephen Ward is the organist.
