The Switzerland County High School varsity softball team continues to play hard during a difficult portion of its schedule.
The Lady Pacer dropped three games last week:
– Last Thursday Switzerland County fell to state-ranked Providence by a score of 12-2.
Taylar Jordan was 1-for-1 with a run scored and she also drew a walk; Brooke Todd was 1-for-2 with an RBI, and she also got on base after being hit by a pitch.
McKenna Edwards was 1-for-3 with a double; Kelsi Konkle drew a walk; Rachel Ard scored a run after being hit by a pitch; and Hope Tankersley had a sacrifice and also drew a walk.
On the mound, Kelsi Konkle went five innings, striking out two.
– On Friday night the Lady Pacers hosts South Ripley in a game rescheduled due to rain.
The Lady Raiders won by a score of 15-7.
Susie Reyes was 2-for-3 with an RBI, and was also hit by a pitch; Brooke Todd was 2-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI; Bre Braun was 1-for-2; Hope Tankersley was 1-for-2 with a pair of RBI; and McKenna Edwards was 1-for-3 with a run scored and a sacrifice.
Kelsi Konkle was 1-for-4 with a run scored; Samantha Christerson was 1-for-4 with a run scored; Rachel Ard was 1-for-4 with an RBI; and Taylar Jordan was 1-for-4 with a run scored.
Kelsi Konkle went seven innings, striking out eight. Only seven of the South Ripley runs were earned.
– On Saturday, Switzerland County completed three games in three days with a 10-1 loss at Franklin County.
Taylar Jordan was 1-for-2 at the plate with a stolen base, and she also drew a walk; Baylie Scudder scored a run; and Vicky Abbott drew a base on balls.
