The Switzerland County Lady Pacer varsity softball team has had a busy season as the squad heads towards next week’s Sectional tournament.
– Last Friday the Lady Pacers defeated New Washington by a score of 7-3.
Brooke Todd was 3-for-3 at the plate with a walk. She scored two runs and had two RBI.
Kelsi Konkle was 1-for-3 on the night with a walk and two runs scored; Susie Reyes was 1-for-3 with two RBI; McKenna Edwards was 1-for-3 with two RBI; and Baylie Scudder was 1-for-3 with a run scored.
Vicky Abbott was 1-for-1 with a run scored and a stolen base; Hope Tankersley was 1-for-1 with a triple and an RBI, and also drew a walk.
On the mound, Kelsi Konkle went seven innings, striking out nine, allowing just four hits and three runs, of which two were earned.
– On Monday night Switzerland County picked up a conference win with a 12-5 victory over Jac-Cen-Del.
Kelsi Konkle was 2-for-4 on the night with a double and a walk, had two stolen bases, scored two runs, and recorded an RBI.
Brooke Todd was 1-for-3 with two walks. She also stole a base and scored a run; Taylar Jordan was 1-for-2 with a run scored, a sacrifice, a walk, and she drove in two runs; Samantha Christerson was 1-for-2, scored two runs had two RBI and was hit by a pitch; and Hope Tankersley was 1-for-1 with two RBI and a run scored.
Kelsi Konkle pitched the entire game, striking out 11 and scattering 10 hits. None of the five runs Jac-Cen-Del scored were earned.
– On Tuesday, the Lady Pacers fell to Southwestern by a score of 11-2.
Taylar Jordan was 2-for-3 with a stolen base and an RBI; Kelsi Konkle was 1-for-2 with a run scored, a stolen base, and she drew a walk; Baylie Scudder was 1-for-2 with a run scored; and Brooke Todd was 1-for-3 with a double.
Kelsi Konkle pitched three innings, struck out one and allowed two hits and one earned run; and Kassidy Murray pitched three innings, struck out two, and allowed five hits and three earned runs.
