Softball complete Madison sweep

Kelsi Konkle led the Switzerland County Lady Pacer softball team at the plate and on the mound on Monday night, leading the way as Switzerland County pounded Madison Shawe, 19-0.

The junior went 4-for-4 at the plate, including a home run; and also added two doubles, one walk, and had four RBI.

On the mound, she worked five innings, striking out seven and allowing just two hits and one walk.

Offensively, many Lady Pacers had an outstanding night.

Taylar Jordan was 3-for-4, scoring three runs and knocking in another; Hope Tankersley was 2-for-3 with a double, two walks, and two runs scored; and Brooke Todd was 2-for-3 with a double, a sacrifice, scored three runs and had three RBI.

McKenna Edwards was 2-for-4 with a run scored, a walk, and three RBI; Bre Braun was 2-for-4 with a run scored and a walk; Baylie Scudder was 1-for-3 with a run scored and two RBI; Kayla Jordan was 1-for-3 with two runs scored; Kassedy Murray was 1-for-4 with a run scored; and Summer Dickerson scored four runs.

Last Friday night Switzerland County came up with some timely hitting, scoring two runs in both the third and fifth innings and added a single run in the sixth to defeat Madison by a score of 5-1.

Kelsi Konkle again led the hitting attack, going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored, and one RBI. On the mound, the junior hurler went all seven innings, striking out 10 and allowing just four hits.

Brooke Todd was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI; Bre Braun was 2-for-3 with a run scored; McKenna Edwards was 1-for-3 with three RBI; and Hope Tankersley was 1-for-4 with a run scored.
