Rising Sun won a pair of matches last week including a four way on the sectional golf course at Sunrise Golf Course in Madison on Wednesday, May 4th.
While many spring sports were canceled, the golfers came away with a 178 to finish ahead of Jac-Cen-Del 222, and South Ripley 223. Host Shawe did not have a team score.
JCD’s was medalist with a 41.
Brady Murray led Rising Sun with a 43. Aron Walker scored 44 followed by Brent Turner 45, Sam Markland 46 and Angleo Gallegos 48.
Scoring for JCD were Aaron Powers 51, Chris Brown and Garrett Boor 65 and Dylan Meyer 67.
South Ripley was led by Cory Welch with 48, Michael Pope 55, Isaac Wake 60 and Xavier Lagaly 60.
. Shawe scorers were Schuyler Edwards 52, Zach Stewart 61 and Joel Carrillo 63.
Rising Sun JV scores were Brent Webb 55 and Henry Hoffman 63.
Coach Brian Graham’s Shiners took first place in a four way at The Links at Rising Star, the Ohio River Valley Conference course, on Tuesday, May 3rd.
Rising Sun had a 153 on a rainy night. Jac-Cen-Del scored 198 with LAwrenceburg 209 and Shawe did not have a team score.
Brady Murray was medalist with a 35. Aron Walker had a 38 with Sam Markland 39, Angelo Gallegos 41 and Brent Turner 43.
JCD was led by Lucas Williams 40, Aaron Powers 44, Chris Brown 49, Garrett Boor 65 and Dylan Meyer 70.
Lawrenceburg had Jeremy Collins and Evan Pennington with 49s, Noah Frank 55, Curtis White 56 and Spencer Gordon 58.
Shawe was led by Schuyler Edwards 46, Zach Stewart 52 and Joseph Lee 65.
“I am really happy for our guys with shooting 153,” said Graham. “That’s our best score of the season by 18 shots. There’s no doubt that we are capable of breaking 160 on a consistent basis.”
Rising Sun closed out the week as they shot a 367 at Hillcrest Country Club in Batesville on Saturday which was good enough for 8th place out of 12 teams. Madison won the event with a 332. The Shiners were led by Aron Walker’s 82 which was good enough for 7th place out of 60 golfers. Brady Murray finished tied for 8th with and 83. Other Shiner scores were: Brent Turner 100, Sam Markland 102, and Angelo Gallegos 112.

Rising Sun was to play at Hoosier Links on Wednesday before the annual Rivertown golf match on Monday at Belterra and the Milan Invitational on Tuesday. They return to The Links to host Connersville on Thursday, May 19th.
