Seventh grade Pacers wrap up perfect year

The Switzerland County seventh grade boys basketball team wrapped up its season with an away game at Southwestern last week.

Switzerland County started the game with 17-6 lead after the first quarter, with all five of the Pacer starters scoring in the period. Switzerland County’s scoring slowed down in the second quarter, where they only scored 12 points – with half of those coming from Hunter Hayes.

Switzerland County led 29-13 at the half.

The third quarter was all Pacers as they outscored the Rebels 16-2. The Pacers scoring was fueled by Kollin Hayes, who scored 10 of his 18 in the third period. The fourth quarter Switzerland County’s defense held the Rebels to two points of free throws. The final score was Switzerland County 56, Southwestern 17.

The Pacers finished the season with a perfect 17-0 record.

Scoring in the game were: Kollin Hayes, 18 points; Hunter Hayes, 12 points; Casper Stow, eight points; Brody Splain, eight points; Justin Green, four points; Andrew Youngblood, four points; and Dakota Fuller, two points.
