Seventh grade boys win SCIT tournament


The Switzerland County Middle School seventh grade boys basketball team captured the championship of the Switzerland County Invitational Tournament held this past Saturday.

In the first game, the Pacers defeated Rising Sun by a score of 36-20.

Chase Ritch led Switzerland County with 14 points; while Braden Burk was also in double figures, finishing with 12 points.

Bob Tressler and Hunter Jordan each finished with four points; and Austin Clark added two points.

In the championship game, the Pacers defeated South Ripley by a score of 47-36.

Chase Ritch again led Switzerland County, this time tallying 22 points; and Braden Burk added 14 points in the championship tilt.

Hunter Jordan had seven points; and Austin Clark and Justus Powell each finished with two points apiece.

Last Thursday evening the seventh grade team kicked off its season with a 49-42 loss to Madison.

Chase Ritch was Switzerland County’s leading scorer with 12 points; and Braden Burk finished with nine. Hunter Jordan added eight points; Austin Clark had five; and Michael Savage finished with three.

Dakota Taylor and Justus Powell each had two points; and Bob Tressler finished with one point.
