Switzerland County High School will host four sectional tournaments over the next four years – and could possibly add a fifth.
The member schools of the Class 2A grouping here: Switzerland County, Southwestern, Lawrenceburg, Milan, South Ripley, North Decatur and Hauser all met recently to determine sectional sites.
Switzerland County will host the volleyball and softball sectionals in the 2008-2009 year; the girl’s basketball sectional in the 2009-2010 year; and the baseball sectional in the 2010-2011 year.
The group assigned the boys basketball sectional to Southwestern for next year, but will then evaluate where the boys tournament will go in following years. That could leave the door open for Switzerland County to again host the boys basketball sectional.
For the upcoming school year: Southwestern will host boys basketball; Lawrenceburg will host girls basketball and softball; Milan will host volleyball; and South Ripley will host baseball.
