The Switzerland County Lady Pacer varsity basketball team opens Sectional play this year on Tuesday night, February 8th.
This year’s Sectional tournament is being played at Southwestern; and the Lady Pacers (10-10) open the tournament with a rematch against North Decatur (6-11) at 7 p.m. in the night’s only game.
On Wednesday night, February 9th, the first game at 6 p.m. will pit Milan (0-18) versus Hauser (11-7). That game will be followed by Lawrenceburg (1-15) versus South Ripley (14-4) at approximately 7:30 p.m.
On Friday, February 11th, Southwestern (11-9) will play the winner of the Switzerland County-North Decatur game at 6 p.m.; with the Milan-Hauser winner playing the Lawrenceburg-South Ripley winner at approximately 7:309 p.m.
The two winners from Friday night’s games will then square off for the Sectional championship on Saturday, February 12th, with the game getting underway at 7:30 p.m.

The winner of the Southwestern Sectional will then play in the Lawrence Central Regional on Saturday, February 19th. The Southwestern winner will play the winner of the Triton Central Sectional in the Regional’s first game at 10 a.m.; with the winners of the Centerville Sectional and the Alexandria Sectional playing in the second game.
The Regional championship will then be played at 8 p.m. that evening.
The Triton Central Sectional looks to be loaded, with Heritage Christian (17-4), Triton Central (15-3), Indianapolis Ritter (15-4), and Indian Creek (12-4) all in the mix.
The Centerville Sectional appears to favor Hagerstown (16-4) or Knightstown (14-5); while the Alexandria Regional seems to have a favorite in Winchester (16-4).
The Regional winner will then play the winner of the Forest Park Regional at either Southport or Bedford North-Lawrence on Saturday, February 26th; and the state championship games for all four classes will be played in the Allen County War Memorial Colesium in Fort Wayne on Saturday, March 5th.
