The Switzerland County School Corporation has announced that it will be holding an auction next month to help settle the debt owed by former corporation treasurer Ann Geyman.
As part of her plea agreement involving the embezzlement of more than $1 million from the Switzerland County School Corporation, Ann Geyman agreed to turn over personal property to the school corporation.
Those items are to be auctioned off, with the proceeds going against the amount of money that she must repay to the school.
Superintendent Darin Gullion announced that the school corporation has contracted with auctioneer Bob Owings to hold the auction, which will be on Saturday, February 9th, at the National Guard Armory in Madison.
School attorney Ron Hocker noted that all of the expenses involved in the sale will come out of the proceeds of the sale, with the next proceeds being applied to the debt that Ann Geyman owes.
