Switzerland County swimmer Korah Taylor broke two school records during the past week for the Pacer swim team.
She established new school records in the 200-meter freestyle and the 100-meter butterfly during the team’s first meet on the season on Tuesday, November 16th.
The meet was a three-way encounter with South Dearborn and Batesville, and was held at South Dearborn. Batesville won the meet.
Placing for the Pacers were:
– Korah Taylor: second in the 200-meter freestyle and third in the 100-meter butterfly.
– Hannah Slover: second in the 50-meter freestyle and third in the 100-meter freestyle.
– Lauren Edwards: fourth in the 50-meter freestyle.
– Alyssa Yorn: fifth in the 100-meter freestyle.

This past Saturday the team traveled to Corydon to swim in the North Harrison “Icebreaker Invitational”.
North Harrison won the meet, followed by Corydon, Switzerland County, Lanesville, and Henryville.
Pacer finishers included:
– Hannah Slover: first in the 200-meter freestyle and first in the 100-meter freestyle.
– Alyssa Yorn: fourth in the 50-meter freestyle and fourth in the 100-meter freestyle.
– Lauren Edwards: sixth in the 50-meter freestyle.
“We have a small and very young team, yet we have shown tremendous improvement since last year,” Coach Eric Cole said. “I am very excited to see how this season unfolds for this team.”

The boys team’s first meet of the year will be this Saturday when they travel to Corydon for their “Icebreaker Invitational”; and both the boys and girls teams will be in action on Thursday, December 2nd, at South Dearborn.
The first home meet of the season will be on Thursday, December 9th, at 6 p.m. at the Switzerland County YMCA.
