Students will report for a full day of school on Monday, August 3rd, as another year begins at the Rising Sun-Ohio County Community School Corporation. Classes at the Elementary/Middle School and the High School will begin at 8:00 A.M. and dismiss at 3:00 P.M.
The cafeteria will begin operation Monday, August 3rd. Lunch prices will be $2.45 for students in Kindergarten through grade 2 and $2.70 for students in grades 3 through 12 (a la carte items available at an extra cost). Breakfast will be available for $1.00 at the Elementary/Middle School and the High School. Please remember that you must deposit money into your student’s account for breakfast and lunch. Deposits may be made during bookstore and open house. The Lunch Program deposits should be kept separate from textbook fees.
The 2015-2016 school fees can be paid at the corporation bookstore located at the high school in Room 2010 from 8:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, July 29th, 30th, and 31st . Friday July 31st, during Open House only, there will be a bookstore open from 6:00-8:00 in the Elementary Cafeteria and at the High School location. Fees can be paid at the administration building after July 31st. The applications for textbook and school lunch assistance were mailed out previously and are to be returned to the Superintendent’s Office as instructed on the applications. Device insurance will be available for all students this school year. Parents will have the opportunity to pay $25 per student for insurance for the devices. The first offense the student would owe $25 for the damage, $50 for the second, and 100% of the damage upon the third offense. The parent also has the right to refuse the insurance policy. By signing the waiver of insurance, the parent agrees to pay 100% of any damage occurring to the device or accessories. Parents may pay for the insurance at the bookstore. The payment will be separate from textbook fees and lunch deposits.
